Escape Artist Upset With Amateur Lock Pickers
Thursday, November 1,
2007
RICHMOND, Ill. (Wireless Flash - Flash News) – An escape artist in
Richmond, Illinois, is upset that the art of lock picking has
become accessible to amateurs.
Houdini wannabe Nino Cruz – who has been mastering
his lock picking skills for escapology tricks since he was a kid
– says the quality of his craft is being ruined by Internet
websites that show “any old amateur” the tricks to
picking locks.
Cruz says viral videos of lock picking demonstrations can be
viewed by anyone, and warns that leaking the locksmith secret
could have dangerous results.
Says Cruz: “Nowadays, any computer geek can learn how to
pick a lock and break into someone’s home. If they file the
key just right, stick it in a lock, bump it with a wooden spoon,
and rattle it, they’ll be able to shake the pin tumblers and
open the lock. Burglars could definitely use this trick for
evil.”
And Cruz isn’t just worried about the unlocking of the
secret, he’s downright offended.
He explains, “I’m angry that Pandora’s
Box has been opened, so to speak. I’ve been practicing this
trick for years, and at least I do it for fun, entertaining
purposes. It’s a secret that belongs to only escape artists
and locksmiths.”

Like a Locksmith, it took me years of practice, patience, and studying to open locks from around the globe - like Houdini did.
"Rapping" a lock is Old trick that dates back to the ancient Egyptians (about 4000 years.) Now Referred to as "Lock Bumping" opens any "Pin Tumbler" Lock. What's Scary is most Locks in the US are Pin Tumbler Locks!
How's it Done? I won't Show You The Details - But . . . Any KEY can be modified by filing down the teeth to a certain depth. Inserted into the lock and TAPPED (Bumped) with arubber hammer called a "Tomahawk" and a slight twisting motion on the key,
the tumblers will Rattle"enough for the lock pins to be fooled and "rise" quickly as if it's the Right Fitting Key!
